In May bluebells adorn riverside walks through the Gwenffrwd valley. Visit Dinefwr Park too to take in the vast swathes of blue in dappled shade stretching right up to the ancient castle itself with its spectacular panoramic views. The scent is wonderful. Spring time in a bird reserve is a furore of activity. It is a well known locally that our valley is the most reliable place to hear the cuckoo call and this year was no exception. The ponds and rivers are full of frog spawn, red squirrels have been spotted and lambs are gambling in the fields.
